Talent Strategy Skilled Trades

Tooling Design Engineer  

  • Design of new tooling and improvements of existing. 

  • Review product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options , testing plans and specifications.

  • Generate detailed installation specifications including BOM’s, and AutoCAD drawings.

  • Draft and revise new and current drawings using computer aid programs such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Manufacturing Engineer 

  • Develop new product launches and ensure timely delivery of material, tools, gauges, and equipment needed for product launches.  

  • Manage and approve production development process including development of programs and operating procedures and final approval of dimensions.

  • Assist in the creation, approval, and improvement of process controls.

  • Applies “Lean” manufacturing practices in process development

  • Troubleshoot on the floor as issues arise with machines and machine personnel.

  • Evaluate tooling, Scrap and Rework cost, determine root cause and corrective action to reduce cost.

  • Optimize the equipment for minimal setup time, changeover, and operational cycles. 

Controls Engineer

  • Support the maintenance department by assisting in the troubleshooting of equipment issues, which includes troubleshooting PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix.
  • Maintain PLC documentation upon receipt from equipment suppliers.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve automated equipment including devices, I/O, instruments and all other components.

  • Support various I/O devices connected to PLC’s including HMI’s, scanners, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, etc.

  • Schedule and complete backups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on set schedule and develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Programs.

  • Programming and maintenance of plant robotic equipment (Kuka, Fanuc, etc). 

Machine Builder

  • Assemble prefabricated parts to form subassemblies.  
  • Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts.  

  • Fasten or install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.   

  • Complete production reports to communicate team production level to management.
