1st Shift Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department and reports to the Plant Manager.

  • Strategic focus-utilizes resources in a shared way, allowing for CI teams, daily problem-solving teams, and puts a strong emphasis on service support for the operating teams
  • Project Management Skills-demonstrated history of managing projects in an organized and strategic manner, including initiating charters, actions items and owners, FMEA, and thorough print and design reviews
  • Considers Preventative Maintenance to be the foundation and critical strategic focus of operational performance improvement and sustainability
  • Operates with a high level of integrity, cross-functional team mentality, and has a willingness and desire to serve and support on a broad scale
  • Has a passion for new ideas, and believes that something that was done once, may be done another way with a different set of facts or understanding
  • Pushes teams to drive for results, keeping positive, and building enthusiasm for every task and project, as well as how we approach the day
  • Strong focus on process documentation and organization, and high performing communicator

Skills for Success:

  • Mechanical, electrical, and process flow skills, and the ability to lead and coach inexperienced teams through experience gaps
  • Facilities maintenance-understanding of best practices and PM needs
  • Equipment Install and upgrade experience
  • Experience in implementing and driving PM programs
  • Capable of creating, evaluating, and improving PM and PM accuracy
  • Adept at assessing team strengths and weaknesses, and assigning PM's based on capitalizing on TM's strengths, and improving weaknesses
  • Ability to assess critical areas of opportunities, and drive immediate PM implementation and accuracy
  • Data and analytical understanding-able to articulate the “why” and implement counter measures for gaps

Desired Experience:

  • Production experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Deep understanding of programable logic controls
  • Experience with packing equipment and automatic loaders
  • Acquainted with Marel-Townsend and/or Vemag equipment
