Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of HR with all HR-related activities.
- Coordinate and communicate with other HR team members to exchange information, share resources and insure coverage of each area Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees and managers
- Partners with management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
- Become proficient in HR-related regulations at the state and federal level, and keep current with new developments Is able to independently identify issues at an early stage, take responsibility for resolving them, and recognize when it is appropriate to escalate them to Director of Human Resources.
- Is able to investigate and respond to less complex employee relations issues such as attendance and punctually and performance issues initially.
- Escalates more complex issues as appropriate to Director.
- Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness, customer service and professionalism
- Exercise initiative and sound judgment in proactively managing HR-related topics
- Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and provides feedback to the management team
- Facilitates and/or provides human resources related training (including orientation) to the team members
- Proactively is involved in the updating of orientation presentations or other training initiatives as information changes
- Reviews applications and resumes to match experience with specific job related requirements
- Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings with direction Director
- Is able to independently source candidates for open positions through Internet, job postings, ad placement, job tables etc
- Manages applicant flow for positions
- Independently processes and monitors FMLA requests, making sure that all documents are sent out and returned in a timely fashion
- Monitors return to work status of employees
- Process unemployment claims
- Able to independently coordinate hearings when required
- Answers front line benefits and payroll questions from employees
- Sends in worker’s compensation Form 45 when an injury occurs
- Is able to coordinate worker’s compensation through assigned vendor with minimal assistance
- Assists with audit by gathering requested information, reviewing with Director and submitting in a timely manner
- Assists with all government reporting and required notices
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management, or a related field
- Three to seven years of experience in Human Resources in positions demonstrating increased responsibility levels
- Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues with little assistance from senior human resources management
- The ability to research and analyze various types of data information. Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems
