Saw Cutter
Pay: $17
SUMMARY
This Steel Cutter receives raw material and provides steel cut to requirements. All managers, supervisors, and employees are responsible for supporting company quality policies and initiatives, as well as promoting and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (MR's) AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (PS's) include the following, and all other duties as assigned:
MR 1. Responsible for cutting steel to requirements.
PS #1. Selects correct type of steel.
PS #2. Deburrs all work.
PS #3. Double checks accuracy of work.
MR 2. Responsible for marking cut steel correctly.
PS #1. Tags or marks the part legibly.
PS #2. Boxes (tapes) small pieces.
PS #3. Palletizes all cut steel.
MR 3. Responsible for delivery of cut steel to the next department.
PS #1. Delivers cut steel to the correct department.
PS #2. Notifies Receiving of “hot job” materials.
PS #3. Delivers cut steel to correct rack within a department.
MR 4. Responsible for unloading/storing raw material.
PS #1. Unloads trailer deliveries.
PS #2. Checks shippers for accuracy of delivery.
PS #3. Properly stores materials received.
PS #4. Notifies appropriate personnel of “hot job” material received.
MR 5. Responsible for area safety and housekeeping.
PS #1. Maintains work area cleanliness; sweeps up cuttings and work related waster material.
PS #2. Routinely practices plant and department work safety.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than a high school education; or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Steel Cutter Entry (Fabricator) requirement. Six months experience, blue print reading.
Steel Cutter B (Fabricator) requirement. Three – seven years experience, blue print reading.
Steel Cutter A (Fabricator) requirement. Seven – ten years experience, blueprint reading.
Additional classes (courses, seminars) would include the following:
– Basic Math
– Blueprint Reading
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Basic ability to read and write/print.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract and use basic measurement tools.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.
