Pay: $32-$40 (Pay depends on – Level 1 or Level 2 inspector cert.)
Shift: 1st with OT (Company vehicle provided)
Location: Detroit, MI

Must have 1,ooo + hours of technician and/or inspection experience or combination of both.

Job Overview:
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Overhead Crane Service Inspector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and occasional maintenance of overhead crane systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of overhead crane systems, including structural components, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Utilize testing equipment to assess the condition and performance of critical crane parts.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all inspected crane systems comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Identify and address safety hazards and issues promptly.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform minor maintenance tasks and adjustments as needed. Identify and report major repair requirements to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communication: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to communicate inspection findings, maintenance needs, and project timelines effectively. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding crane system improvements.
  • Training: Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements related to overhead crane systems. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients.
  • Customer Service: Maintain excellent customer relationships by delivering high-quality service and addressing client concerns and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or education in crane operation, maintenance, or inspection is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in overhead crane inspection and maintenance is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the operation of overhead crane systems and the use of inspection tools and equipment. Familiarity with crane manufacturer manuals and specifications.
  • Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards related to overhead crane operations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and inspection.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients in a professional manner.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in crane inspection and maintenance are a plus.
