Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Benton Harbor

Pay Range: $85,000 – $100,000

Shift: 1st

Contract or direct hire: Direct Hire

Job description:

  • Assembly: Design one-piece-flow assembly cell / line for the launch of new products
    • This includes all necessary: bolt torque, leak detect, vision part presence and test equipment needed to ensure end-product conformance to customer requirements
  • Powder Coat: Maintain process control of the powder coat paint line and Iron Phosphate
    • This includes the design of powder coat paint masks and hooks
  • Packaging: Design end-product shipping packaging
  • Standard Work: Create / Maintain standard work documentation for processes and facilitate initial training
  • Plant Layout: Assist with plant layout CAD designs with emphasis on product flow
  • 8D: Manage and Perform 8D corrective/preventative actions including visits to customer and supplier sites
  • PFMEA: Perform PFMEA’s on new and existing processes to aid in the mistake proofing of the assembly process
  • Production Support: Collaborate with manufacturing supervision and manufacturing team members to eliminate persistent process / product problems
  • Lean: Monitor and maintain process stability while eliminating waist
  • Standard Work: Creation, implementation, and sustainability of standard work, including 5S
  • Troubleshooting: Be the first line of defense in problem solving manufacturing issues
    • Update process and standard work as necessary to support change
  • Process Control: Monitor and maintain process stability
    • This includes Launch of new products, troubleshooting, and process improvements

Qualifications:

· Previous engineering experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment

· Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering degree

· Knowledge of Keyence or Cognex machine vison systems

· Design experience with: AutoCad, Pro-E, or Solid Works
