Automation Engineer
Pay: $100k-$120k

The primary responsibility of the Automation Engineer is to perform the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades for the plant networks, automation, and instrumentation system

Accountabilities:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades for the plant networks, automation, and instrumentation systems in a fast-paced environment with processing and packaging equipment.
•    PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting, preferably Allen Bradley controllers.  DeltaV DCS system knowledge a plus
•    Human Machine Interface design, development, and installation
•    Knowledge of historian systems, such as OSI PI, a plus
•    Performs training for operations/maintenance personnel on automation systems
•    Collaborates with Operations and Maintenance personnel to identify production downtime sources and implement corrective actions
•    Project development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial and computer networks including DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, PROFIBUS, and/or BACnet
•    Perform updates on electrical and process control systems to maximize plant production and reliability
•    Assists in determining software and hardware requirements for the Automation systems
•    Maintains Automation systems in validated state by following the proper change control policies
•    Executes Software Change Requests (SCRs) to drive continuous improvement
•    Perform regularly scheduled backups of the Automation systems
•    Participates in rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 support of plant automation systems
•    Demonstrates ability to manage time, space, and material resources to allow for efficient and timely delivery of project and departmental objectives.
•    Communicates technical information both written and verbally
•    Uses independent judgement and work well as part of a team
•    Establishes strong working relationships with key customers, colleagues, and leadership
•    Demonstrates accountability with a focus on customer service
Qualifications
•    Associated degree in electrical/electronic field preferred or 5+ years of working with electrical/electronic position in a manufacturing environment.
•    Strong knowledge in areas of packaging, liquid and powder processing, wastewater and/or powerhouse operations is desired
•    An understanding of maintenance best practices, safety, quality, cost, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
•    Strong analytical and people skills are necessary in this position.
•    Knowledge of industrial automation communication protocols including Ethernet TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS and/or BACnet
•    Demonstrated experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms including PLC-5, SLC and Logix families of controllers, Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives and servo drives and Allen-Bradley PanelView human machine interfaces
•    Experience with DeltaV and/or building automation systems (including Metasys) is preferred
